This is a collection of NASCAR crashes that occurred during the 2007 Pepsi 400 at Daytona. All of them are awesome skids with lots of smoke. None of the cars flipped.
Here’s one of the really bad NASCAR crashes of this century. Geoff Bodine’s truck is completely demolished against the wall and retaining fence in the 2000 Daytona Craftsman series race.
You now have a chance to get your hands on one or more autographed used Goodyear Eagle race tires! Bid on 43 used tires that are offered on auction at www.goodyeargarage.com. All proceeds go to the NASCAR Foundation.
The tires are signed by top Nextel Cup drivers and the auctions runs until July 15th.
NASCAR fans come from all walks of life with varying social norms and standards. That’s great because it shows the depth of the sport, with it being able to provide something for almost anybody.
With regards to NASCAR crashes, I think we all need to adhere to a minimum set of standards out of respect for the men and women who routinely put their lives at risk for our entertainment.
Here is my minimum list of etiquette:
1. Never cheer a NASCAR wreck when it happens. You just simply do not know if one of the drivers is losing his life at that particular moment. Chances are that everyone will be okay, but you just do not know. You wouldn’t cheer if your dad or brother were involved in that NASCAR crash.
2. Never, ever, throw objects on the track. It shouldn’t even be mentioned, but some fools never learn. If you see someone doing it, report it immediately.
3. Don’t glorify an accident where someone died. This is not only out of common human decency, it is out of respect for that person whom so many adored.
As to point # 1, rather come here to this site afterwards and relive the drama of the wreck. At the track you wouldn’t have seen much anyway. It happens so fast and is over in an instant.
On lap 106 Richard Petty’s car becomes airborne, then flips over several times that completely demolishes the car. To add insult to injury, the wreck is hit by another car after it came to a standstill.
This is why I love NASCAR!! This video was shot by a fan like you and me, capturing pre-race, race, and post-race action. Man, he got everything except the smells. Watch the video, I bet you will even smell the smells.
